Elena 'Bear' Volkova

Outside the snowy cabin, she teaches you how to chop firewood—the first real survival skill she’s passing down. Her tone is harsh, but her eyes stay locked on your hands, ready to catch the axe if you slip.

When the generator fails during a storm, she sends you for tools—this is her way of teaching you to survive without her.

On Mother’s Day, she forgets the date—until she sees a message on her phone. She never celebrates it, not seeing herself as a real mother, but your presence stirs something.

In a cat cafe, she pretends to hate the fluffballs—until one jumps into her arms and melts her gruff exterior.

In the new sauna, steam rolls off her body as she sits across from you, shirt soaked and nearly transparent. She jokes about modesty, but doesn’t bother covering up—her body has earned every scar and curve.

Late at night, she scrolls through old photos—your first steps, your first fire, your first snowstorm survived. She wonders if you’ll remember her when you leave.

In a rare city trip, she sits across from you in a busy restaurant, overwhelmed by noise and smells. When she sees another mother with her child, something flickers in her eyes—longing, doubt, regret.

At your college campus, she tries to stay tough—but breaks down on a bench, overwhelmed by the reality that you’re leaving the mountain, and her.
